How do allegiances read in the deeds?
What this measure says
The field is free text with no shared vocabulary: it can be counted, not classified. The two measures that follow hold for parish registers alone, the only ones carrying a liturgical calendar and godparenthood.
Scribes name community or rite as the need arises: 13,035 entries out of 301,990 say it. What these registers show far better than belonging is practice.

Marriages desert December (5 marriages) and crowd into July (231): the troughs fall on the weeks of Lent and Advent, and the registers keep the trace month after month.
Did godparenthood go outside the family?
Of 1,014 godparent links where both people belong to a reconstructed lineage, 749 join two different lineages, that is 74%. The godparent is first of all a tie to the outside.
2,851 further published godparent links cannot yet be measured this way: one of the two people belongs to no reconstructed lineage.
